Design Experimentation
For these experiments i used imagery from group Red Velvet's sub-unit IRENE & SEULGI and their debut mini album titled Monster. I used this image of Seulgi as it uses a strong tone of voice through the direct address due to the eye contact created between Seulgi and the audience.
Within the design i wanted to follow a similar style to my previous design experiments, to see if i could build upon this style and refine it more. I wanted to experiment further with chrome typography, and using it in a more decorative manner. As well as this i wanted to explore different ways to use the colour halftone effect within photoshop, and i did this by playing around with different blending modes in order to get the printed effect i desired.
For these designs i also had a version with the starburst shape, which is shown below. i chose to show these designs as well as i do enjoy them, however i prefer the simplicity of the designs without the addition. I chose to add this shape in order to fill, what i thought was, empty space. After doing this i initially enjoyed the way that the designs looked and felt more complete, however after a while they began to feel cramped and slightly overcrowded.
